Client Brief

Our client was tasked with installing New Totem Signage on the main Concourse of Waterloo Station. As one of the busiest train stations in Europe, this was always going to be a challenge. Not only because of the footfall but also because the new signs need an electrical supply. This required drilling holes down to the floors below from the concourse.

Delivery & Method

This is where the client decided to contact Baypoint. Following a site visit, it was agreed that we would need to carry out connected laser scans of the main concourse and below floors.

We could then not only transpose the new totem locations to the floor below, but also supply ceiling plans for the floors below showing where the drill holes will come through

Outcomes

Following several nights and days of surveying, we completed the surveys, then managed to set out the drill hole locations on the floors below. The client then carried out a detailed assessment and decided they needed to adjust a few locations. These were then set out above and below.

The final deliverable was a overview of the concourse and individual plans of each totem location. Each plan showed the general location, a plan, a 360 degree image of the drill location and the ceiling plan.
