The Purbeck Hall, Bournemouth International Centre
Client Brief
To install a monitoring system which will assess any potential movement in the floor slab of the Purbeck Hall.
Delivery & Method
As with all monitoring projects its was critical to install multiple control stations outside of the zone of influence.
It was decided to install 8 monitoring control targets on the structural piers, which were equally spaced around the hall.
Once installed, we then used the grid of tiles locate our survey locations. These were measured at 2m centres across the whole floor.
At regular intervals we returned to site and re-measured levels at the same locations, to establish any deformation.
These results were then updated on a new site plan.
Outcomes
We carried out the surveys over a period of 3 years and were able to demonstrate to the client that the structure was very stable.
